About Us

Welcome to Pingree!
Pingree Elementary School is a warm and welcoming community school located in East Weymouth. Named in honor of Lawrence W. Pingree, a Weymouth High School graduate and WWII hero, our school proudly serves approximately 265 students.
At Pingree, we believe in fostering kindness, belonging, and social-emotional learning, creating a nurturing environment where students can thrive. We are dedicated to implementing instructional practices that cater to the diverse needs of our students, ensuring their success and growth.
As part of our commitment to meeting the unique needs of our students, Pingree houses WPS' Therapeutic Learning Center (TLC) program. This specialized program supports students with emotional impairment educational disabilities, providing tailored resources and care.
At Pingree, we believe that home, community, and school collaboration is an essential part of comprehensive safe school and school improvement planning. Schools are more effective and caring places when they are an integral part of the community. This contributes to enhanced academic performance, fewer discipline problems, higher staff morale, and improved use of resources. For communities, collaboration with schools can strengthen students, their families, their schools, and the community in which they live.
Pingree Elementary School is proud to carry on the legacy of our namesake by instilling the values of courage, resilience, and compassion in our students. Together, we work to create a bright future for every child who walks through our doors.
